Meet Dr. April Morris
CEO/Founder, Program Director
Originally from Maryland, Dr. April Morris began her inspiring journey toward becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). She ultimately relocated to Tampa, FL, where she completed her Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of South Florida (USF) in 2019, followed by her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) from Missouri State University in 2021. She then earned her post-master’s degree in Nurse Education in 2024.
Dr. Morris' path to success was driven by her early experiences as a teenage mother of two and her introduction to surgery while working as a medical assistant in an ENT clinic and surgery center. Despite the challenges of poverty, teen pregnancy, and a family history of substance abuse, she embodies the belief that with resilience, perseverance, and hard work, any obstacle can be overcome. Her message to those aspiring to advance their career: "If there is a will, there is a way. Success begins with the belief that you are capable."
Now practicing as an independent contractor in both acute care and outpatient surgery settings, Dr. Morris' passion extends beyond clinical practice. She is dedicated to mentoring future Nurse Anesthetists and empowering economically disadvantaged youth through academic success. Her mission is to guide others toward their highest potential, inspired by the principle that "we all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the best version of ourselves" (Kelly, 2015).
